MagSafe phone cases and Magview scope adapters

I’m getting an iPhone 17 and see it has something called MagSafe technology. What is this? Is it basically a magnet that allows for wireless charging? Does it allow you to hook your phone to a phone mount in the vehicle?

If so…can it connect to a magview phone scope adapter? My husband, @chevyman181, and I have the Magview phone scope adapter that connects to our phones via a magnet. I’m wondering if a phone case with MagSafe compatibility will connect to the Magview phone scope adapter.

Yes, MagSafe is magnetic charging. I have a 15 and it has that, not sure what generation phone they started or if your husbands old phone may already have it?

If you run a case on your phone you’ll want to be sure to get a MagSafe compatible case which has a set of magnets in the case to allow it to still work through the case.

They have and are coming out with more and more accessories like magnetic car mounts and yes magnetic phone scopes.

I have the Epoch Outdoors adapters and they are great. Was a bit cheaper than MagView and can just use my normal case (otter box defender). They also make an arca rail which I grabbed so can easily connect phone to a tripod now.

I think MagView came out before MagSafe but now with MagSafe I wanted something that would work with my normal MagSafe phone case. I also think they now have a magnetic back that allows wireless charging through but am unsure if it will allow phone to work with other MagSafe things like the mounts, so I think that’s all you’d need but I would see if someone else knows for sure or send them an email.

I saw they now have MagSafe battery packs which will be nice, no more cords for charging when off grid/out hunting etc.
