I've been in and out of the forums for years, typically never posting or sharing. But now I figure its time to start posting and sharing knowledge that I've gained. I've hunted several L48 states and currently live in AK.

willow is the perfect spot just far enough away from civilization.Welcome aboard! Absolutely love Alaska. We had a cabin just north of Willow for a couple years. Covid killed our travel.![]()
I wish I had the option to move up here in my earlier years..it’s an amazing place and at this point I’ll never leave. My dad got stationed up at Fort Wainwright in 59. I’ve been in and out of Alaska every year but one since then. Sometimes I was living and working sometimes just visiting for a while. I’ve been from Pt. Barrow to POW at one time or another. Never get tired of it, well at least not so tired I don’t come back. Guided out on the Peninsula for 20 years, love it out there and up in the Brooks Range, still pretty wild up there.
That’s the truth. - I picked up a sxs and a raft with a outboard.A man needs three things to do well up there. A super cub or similar, 20 foot sled, a raft could be handy. Full wallet doesn’t hurt either. Shit, guy kinda needs a good blue water boat as well.
