Let’s talk about firewood

I have a pile of juniper we cut last mont setting out in the yard.

Need to buck, split and stack.

I got the old wood out of the shelter, and that will go on top.

How do you like juniper for firewood? Seems like most of it I see is too small or twisted weird.

About all we have around here is Pinion and Juniper. We prefer the Juniper. More even heat and less pitch.

A bit more of a pain to cut, but not too bad. We only need about 1.5 cords a winter.

We cut a tree a few weeks ago it got us close to 3/4 cord out of one tree. 16 plus inches on the stump.

Man that’s a good sized juniper. What did the wood grain look like? I bet it would make a nice table. I’ll trade you something else to burn for just 1 of those trees.
