So I've never hunted bear but have wanted to since I was a kid. So in a last minute decision I got a leftover Colorado 35 rifle tag. Out of all the units it covers I like 44 the most followed by 444. If anyone has any tips for spot and stalk or specific to the area it would be helpful. Been saving up points until I felt like I knew something about bears but then I figured I'd just go for it. I plan on hunting the first 5 days over the holiday weekend and go from there probably just hunting Saturday Sunday the rest of the time. Have to save some time for my 1st rifle cow tag and 2nd season deer tags
I've called the Glenwood dow office several times and can't get through and haven't got any of my messages returned. I've read over and over about find the food find the bears and thats what I'm running with for now until I get something more concrete. Talked to the BLM and the gal didn't know anything about hunting but told me to have fun.
I was going to give calling a shot until I seen a Foxpro video of them trying it in BC and it just made the bears tuck tail and run.
So at this point any tips would be helpful.
