Kern Closed for Duck Opener

Just saw the Kern will be closed for the Oct 23rd opener due to the lack of water to flood. It won't open up until Nov 20th :/

Any idea if that's happened before? I wonder if the clubs down there will have water.

From who I talked to it has happened a few times, last being in 2019.

Nothing new there happened lots of times. I remember when kern was a Mecca of waterfowl. Used to drive 3 hours to hunt it.

Jeez,I remember lot's of times it was closed & I went to Kesterson....before that fiasco. Started going to Mendota...long time ago.
