Some of these midnight alfalfa field bouts would be something to see. I've been privileged to witness a few from a treetop perch but they were between bantam weights at best compared to some of these big guys. This girl got her first buck and while stripping off his cape I found this jaw. With the off side having a shattered molar going way up into the roots of his tooth. He was going to have a terrible winter ahead of him, given his age (I would put him as 10'ish based on tooth wear) he may have never made it until spring. Huge old deer with a 22-1/2" 8-1/2" cape.

On the last evening the guy who may well have busted Balboa's jaw stepped out. His damage was more visible but ultimately more survivable. No matter who won I'm thinking some pretty impressive sperms were donated to the local incubators.

Professional interest in jaws and teeth........really amazing how tough wild creatures are, and at the same time how compromised they can be by injury and illness.

That deer was a warrior!!
