Looking for any experience, good or bad, on either to the following 2 wood furnaces - Firechief 1700 and Drolet DF03000. I've had a Clayton for the last 7 years as a supplemental heat source and it has been undersized for the size of my house and is in need or replacing. The two models above are in the budget price range and are substantially bigger than what I have now. Before I spend the $3k on one, hoping to hear if anyone has experience with either one. Thanks in advance.

I can't tell you much other than I am in the same market as you are.... I currently have a Droplet Tundra in my basement… I have three winters with it.... and have tweeked it several different ways... and I'm embarrassed to say that a good can of baked beans and my rear end can produce more BTU's than that thing can..

I have read on other forms that a Droplet Tundra will not heat your house... but it will maintain a temp once you get the house to the temp you want...

Well... I have to say... it burns awfully hot and eats a lot of wood and all it can do is "maintain the temp" ?? What a bunch of crap... this Droplet wood furnace should be cooking me out of the house and it isn't...

I have already started to research other wood furnaces and I do not hear anything good about the Firechief…. and I have one Droplet too many in my basement already. Be sure to follow up with what you find for options or witch direction you go... I am very interested...
