This is my first time hunting deer in unit 27. I know it's back country and has some great potential. I don't have the availability to fly back in, so what advice do you have for the area?
 
The area is huge!! Plenty of high elevation roads that a guy can drive to and hunt from. There are area's out of Yellowpine, Challis, Stanley, Cascade, Salmon, McCall..just pick one a go.

Or are you talking about late November hunt, because the regular hunt starts in September?
 
Thank you for the info! It's the September hunt. I have the elk tag as well. I've been up through yellowpine for bear and that's some awesome country. I was thinking about going up outside of chalis... have you been up that way? It was recommended by the wildlife biologist.
