Idaho short range weapons tag

Anyone have any experience with these tags? I’m looking to hunt it with a slug gun for whitetail in late season and I the regs don’t say you can’t use a scope. Just below the short range weapons regs is a section about muzzle loader only hunts and those regs specifically prohibit scopes for those hunts. I just want to hear from someone who hunts these short range tags. I called idaho and I got someone who wasn’t sure and read the regs and thought I could use a scope but they didn’t sound super sure

yeah i read it. it just doesn’t say you can use a scope it doesn’t say you can’t. i’ve run into trouble with regs before bc of a no no being included in a part of the regs separate from what i thought was controlling. example: Turkey regs in state A don’t list any prohibition on driving turkeys. but a separate section said “turkeys are big game”. and another separate section said “it is illegal to drive big game”. so you had to read sections separated by several pages together to understand why it was not ok to drive a flock of turkeys at a posted shooter. This happened in the state of X 20+ years ago and all resemblances to characters living or deceased is purely coincidental
