John SWA- He did have an operation of late (heart valve in August) but I don't believe he ever fully recovered or even left the hospital after that...
One of his greatest lines was about the hat that ws sooo fugly it should have came with a bowl of soup! ....ahhh, but it looks good on YOU though!

Yep, had an operation and slipped into a coma for a while. From what I read, his death was due to infections and some sort of abdominal blockage. Not sure on it though.
It is a sad day indeed. I like the old school comedy.
