Well... this where the story takes an even more painful turn. I recently moved from Durango to San Antonio, TX (for a job and not the goat hunting). Anyway... I will no longer be a resident so gonna have to try to beat the non-resident odds. I've got a bunch of points built up in my home state of MT, too. Hopefully I can pull a non-resident tag in MT sooner rather than later. I have a score to settle with old Mr. Mountain Goat.

Does either Huntin' Fool or Eastman's give good information on public land/access for each unit?

Eastmans gives a % public land figure for each unit.

For what it is worth; I have subscribed to both over the years and feel like HF has contained some great information. Due to the current economic situation I am only subscribing to Eastmans and personally feel that it is a better value for your dollar.

I use their unit recommendations as a guide of what units to avoid. Their recommendations usually cause thousands of lemmings to start putting in. It is interesting to follow their own personal choices in states like Nevada where you can see what people apply for, they don't always follow their own advice.
