House Insurance Canceled due to Wildfires Potential

My house in E Oregon in in level 4/5 fire. The Canyon Creek fire several years ago took out 72 homes. I had to look around and change polices. Not cheap but I have to have insurance. There should be option out there also depending on deductible and the level of insurance you want.
Possibility:
-Drop replacement insurance for personal items
-Raise deductible
-Verify what replacement building cost is. This is the biggest miss for homeowners. Some insurance over over insure ( to raise premiums) and some under value to look cheaper
-Drop insurance on other outbuildings. I did this because items like my quads, SXS, boat and trailers have their own insurance. why double insure

Good luck

We are in that 4/5 rating also. Insurance was going to cancel but I got them to reevaluate based on three operating wells, city water access and a fire hydrant and two creeks plus the work we’ve done. Hated to cut that spruce and three other good size trees near the house but at least we have insurance. Looking up the hill behind the house is the Eagle Cap Wilderness area. There are fires every year up there but it’s been a long time since one came over the ridge, that’s not necessarily a good thing.

First attempt at my third insurance company in a few years failed. My insurance broker couldn’t find an insurance company in the group they represented willing to insure my house. They gave us a handful of other insurance companies to try.

We’ll try the recommended group before I get a list of insurance companies from my neighbors.
