Not sure how many of you follow Hank Shaw or know what the James Beard Foundation Awards are, but if you do you should be stoked that Hank won for best blog.
The James Beard Foundation is a New York-based national professional non-profit organization named in honor of James Beard that serves to promote the culinary arts by honoring chefs, wine professionals, journalists, and cookbook authors at annual award ceremonies and providing scholarships and educational opportunities to cooking hopefuls.
Hank was there along with a few hunters and foragers who where also nominated. Some guy named Steven Rinella too. What's important about this is that wild foods are being recognized and like Rinella, Hank is an excellent ambassador for us. After all, what better way to influence someone but through their stomach.
