Yeah I don’t know. The bigger frontal diameter and slower velocity don’t necessarily scream penetration to me.also think there would be a lot of merit to a .45 ACP with hard casts. I’ve always thought the .45 in a full size Glock or 1911 is easy to shoot and a lot less snappy than a .40.
That’s true, but I’d be interested to try it. The old .45 colt has a pretty good reputation on game, even when it isn’t hot rodded. I don’t know if he’s still on here but Mackay Sagebrush makes a 250 grain flat point load in the .45 ACP that looked pretty good.Yeah I don’t know. You load some up, we’ll hike up the Taylor Fork with you in front. That’s true, but I’d be interested to try it. The old .45 colt has a pretty good reputation on game, even when it isn’t hot rodded. The only .45 caliber I have now is a .45-70, so I’ll just bring that along to test instead…You load some up, we’ll hike up the Taylor Fork with you in front.
I’m a big fan of the.45 Super. Swapped out my factory barrel and running a KKM barrel in my model 21 with the hard cast 250 grainers. It’s a potent load. I like having 13 of them at the readyThat’s true, but I’d be interested to try it. The old .45 colt has a pretty good reputation on game, even when it isn’t hot rodded. Obviously it’s not going to compare to a .44 mag with hard casts.
