Florida Turkey Hunting

Planning on making a trip from NC to ocala national forest in florida in a few weeks to turkey hunt, any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

There's a reason Florida leads the nation in guided turkey hunt costs. I hunted public land Osceolas for three seasons before I got one. It was some of the sketchiest mess I ever saw.

The birds I found in the Ocala unit I hunted related strongly to bird feeders. Trying to get away from that put me into contact with illegal pot growers and their pit bulls.

I did see a coral snake, though.

Hunting the Green Swamp the 28th

I hunted Ocala last year, which of the three units did you draw. It is a tough hunt due to thick vegetation, but there are turkeys.
