First critter with my Model 7

I had a bit of time to scout for deer this afternoon-- before the lightning chased me back to the truck-- and I figured I'd bring a rifle, just in case. Turned out to be a good decision, as this little guy tried to cross my path. Got him on the move at about 50 yards.

He has pretty cool coloring, so I thought I'd share.

I don't think he was born this year. If he was he ate well and grew fast. He weighed about 20 pounds. The perspective of the picture makes him look smaller than he was, I had him curled up a bit to hide the entry wound. I hit him square on the shoulder with an 85gr Sierra Varminteer-- there's a fist sized hole on that near shoulder. He did strike me as young, though. His teeth are in great shape; the skull should look good when boiled out.
