Hard work pays off. I drew a tag in Montana not knowing the area, but knowing that there where tons of people who hunting the area. When opening weekend came around. I went and sat out on a point at first light, after not seeing a antelope and watching truck after truck drive by i was very upset. All i wonted was a antelope (doe or buck) to come into range of my 243. That never happened on opening day. I decided to go to the same spot the following morning. I didn't see a single antelope! Later that day i decided to go out in the middle of the day. When i walked out to the point that i had been glassing from the previous two mornings. After i sat down and began to scan the flats for antelope. I couldn't believe what i saw. I spotted a heard of about 250-300 head. With one good buck. But my luck was just running out. When i started planning my stock, out of no where this truck started driving down the middle of the field. So i decided i was just gunna start stocking them from where i was. Luckily, after i summited down the hill i was on you couldn't see the antelope from where i was standing and they could't see me. Then i started running in a straight path.I came to this little nob. When i peeked over the nob i saw a antelope. Without hesitation i crawled over this little ditch bank so that the ditch bank was between me and the antelope. I ran for about 100 yards and got my bipods ready and slowly started sneaking over the ditch bank. I set my gun up on top of the bank and crept up to it. When i looked through the scope all i could see where does. Right before i was gunna shoot one of the does i remembered, buck, look for the buck. Wouldn't you know it the buck was in the middle of the heard. The heard started to run away from me, i was following the buck in my cross hairs waiting for a clear shot. The does that were ahead of the buck started to run a little faster so i had a shot at the buck. After i shot the whole heard took off running including the buck. While watching the heard run off i noticed one antelope slowing down. It was the buck! It wasn't long before it tipped over dead.
