Ex-Viet Cong Soldier Recalls Swift Boats

ON THE BAY HAP RIVER, Vietnam - The 50-foot Swift boats were easy targets as they plowed through the waterways of the Mekong Delta in packs of three or four, making big waves and thunderous noise when approaching. Former Viet Cong soldier Duong Hoang Sinh remembers them well — the one time he tangled with three Swift boats, the Americans killed all of the insurgents in his unit except for two.


"It was very fierce fighting," said Sinh, 52, who lost his left eye during the war and still has shrapnel embedded in his arm. "Each side tried to eliminate the other." .........

I wonder if they showed pictures of the Swift boats to these guys? Most of them probably would not know a Swift boat (PCF) from a PBR from APSB. A Swift boat was not "clunky," but it was not really designed for fighting in a canal not much wider than its hull.

And this has to do with Sportsmen's Issues how? Are you going fishing on the BAY HAP RIVER? Are you afraid of getting lead Poisoning from eating fish that ate all of Kerrys bullets? At least Dubya wasn't over there throwing lead in the water and destroying the environment! Maybe this should be put over in the Survival Forum?

Wap. OK, why don't you show me how to do it and start some topics of your own? When I look back thru the last 8 pages of topics I find you only started two and one was about not being able to log in, so that doesn't count.

Anyone as big mouthed as you oughta be able to show us all how good you are at starting topics, since you think you're qualified to criticize my choices.

No, I'm just hear to point out every mistake you and Elkgunner make! Just like you two do to everyone else on here.You never listen to what they have to say, you just degrade them and tell them how dumb they are. Finally seeing how annoying it is aren't you?
