So my ex-sister in law, in her infinite wisdom, has decided to move my 15yr old nephew to Eros, Louisiana. In the last six months he's has gone from Bozeman, Montana to Gunnison, Colorado and now to Louisiana. This will be his third high school in 6 months and he's only going to be a sophomore. So please if you know if there is much to do around Eros hunting and fishing wise please let me know(general info). Tell me some good can come from this.

Is she in the Federal Protection Program? Lordy, Eros is a Little North of Chatam, La and Southwest of West Monroe, La. Killed my first Deer around that area. First of all there are some State Lands to hunt, but most of it was Timber Company land and that is all leased out to Hunting Clubs, so he is gonna need a Hunting Buddy! There is alot of good fishing around there, but it is not Fly Fishing anymore and most is from a boat, so he is gonna need that Hunting Buddy to have access to a boat. Wish I could offer you more than that. John

I live in New Orleans and have never heard of Eros, LA. But doing a bit of research I see it's in the northern part of the state in Jackson Parish. The hunting up there is pretty good and there's some decent Wildlife Management Areas to hunt. Hunting the south is way different than the northern hardwoods, mountain basins, or midwest farmland though. That being said, that part of the state may be more like some of the areas of the country (some of the areas in the sourthern part of the state are EXTREMELY thick and can't be hunted without boats). That area of the state is relatively close to Tensas Parish where they shoot monster bucks all the time due to the fertile grounds along the Mississippi. Louisiana is Sportsman's Paradise, so I can guarantee there's always something closeby to chase around! Good luck!
