Epic Oregon Roosevelt Morning !!!!!!

This is a great thread! Everyone on here asking about hunting Roosevelt’s this is how it’s done. Scout scout and scout some more. Good luck on the rest of the tags, I think you’ll get them filled in short order.

Another Bull DOWN !!!!:hump: my buddy John got on this 4 point early today and had him coming in only to have the set up blown by a coyote

Which as it turns out was a blessing in disguise !!! As John was able to locate a bigger bull later in the day and call him in from 800 yards !! Cheers to the damn coyote for blowing the morning hunt ....

Some are starting, the guys encounted one bull opening weekend that was already screaming, one bugle and he came crashing in , they called him in twice, just weren’t able to put it together. All the older bulls are hard horn and ripping stuff up , the smaller 4 points bulls and down have all still been in velvet is the word I’m getting from my friends in the field

While working this morning, I kept hearing my phone pinging , as I picked up my phone to figure out who in the hell is blowing up my phone !!!!! To my surprise it was my old neighbors son Matt , we lived next door to each other for 14 years until my divorce in 2013, he became my sons best friend and all through Jr High and Highschool practically lived at our place , he became like family, after graduation he moved out of town got a job and haven’t talked much over the past few years , and when I saw him with a Roosevelt Bull I was doubly surprised, because like myself, Matt was not a hunter all those years we lived next door to each other, and was just tickled to think he thought of contacting me to share his first bull with and an archery bull no less . I’m pretty proud of the kid and wanted to share it with everyone on my Rosie thread, Matt said it was a spot and stalk kill , was on a herd in a canyon and was able to get in with the herd found this bull with the group at 43 yards and let one fly !! Bull went about 40 yards and tipped over , said the arrow just missed the heart !!! Can’t wait till next year when I go after Roosevelt’s with a bow for the first time !!!
