Last year was the first year hunting Colorado. I was hunting 11000 ft, but the surrounding areas drop down to juniper piñon at around 8500 ft. Will elk use these areas during the summer months? Theres plenty of water, and alfalfa fields near by. Im really wishing I had hiked the area while doing my summer scouting. I like to glass, and that terrain is much more conducive to that type of hunting.
