Elk/Mule deer hunt

I am planning a elk/mule deer hunt around the Meeker, Co area for next fall. I was looking for any input from people that have hunted that area lately. How has the Mule deer population recovered since the decline from recent harsh winters? What has been the quality of the elk taken from that area? Any input is greatly appreciated. Drove through there about a week ago and saw a 6x6 bull and then a huge non typical buck.... I hunt the craig area but i see lots if deer and elk around there and some real monsters..
