Hurricane-force winds kill one, topple hundreds of trees and knock out power for 170,000 residents

Same winds pushing all those fires in WA and OR also did major damage in Salt Lake City today. 170,000 customers without power. 100mph+ gusts recorded. I drove into SLC this evening, and it reminded my of the hurricanes I went through back east. Trees, limbs and debris everywhere. About half of the traffic lights not functioning. They are bracing for another round of high winds tonight.
Clouds were pretty freaky as well...
