Howdy,
Came about as close as you can to filling a tag in archery season but couldn't seal the deal. Looking to take my first elk this year and planning on picking up a leftover type 6 for thirty four or thirty five. Planning on getting out of the truck and doing some walking, especially since I couldnt hunt the forest and not sure how accessible the roads are anyway. Got a couple public chunks picked out that look decent since I don't have any private access but having not hunted the area much at all am looking for a little insight. Planning on going later in Nov or Dec but not sure where the elk will be by then and haven't figured out which unit would the better of the two considering my situation.
