Connecting pockets to MR waistbelt

Was about to order some waistbelt pockets when I realized the belt that came with my pintler does not have the molle webbing and is bare, like the belt pictured below. Is this normal? How do you guys with these belts attach things to them?

I just wrap the pouch attachment loop around the belt and make sure it's tight. You can use zip ties as a form of belt keeper to keep the pouch from sliding around. It's not perfect but it has worked ok for me so far. I'm sure it would work the same if your pouch uses malice clips. I just used a old pouch I had in storage.

I don't like using bladders for water so I needed to put a canteen pouch on my belt. Like the others have said I put the straps around the belt itself. I like to have it further back on my hip so the rear most strap is around the strap that attaches the belt to the pack. This set up keeps it in place where I want it and keeps my canteen accessible without dropping the whole pack.
