Colorado High Country deer

This year I will be deer hunting in the Colorado high country in mid September. Great time to be in the high country chasing big bucks. The big boys are there just hope I can find one !!

Good luck! I've always wanted to try that, but I haven't been able to draw the tag that I want.

Did that last year. Had been in the same basin the prior year chasing mountain goats. Saw some respectable bucks on the goat hunt. Drew the deer tag and returned. Not only were the bucks not out and about but the dang reservoir that held trout the prior year had been drained less than a month before we arrived. No trout. No deer. Still amazing country to hike around for a few days.

Didn't draw my tag this year..
We saw some dandies last yr in CO while elk hunting..
Bro in law missed a huge 5x4 but still ended up filling his tag on his first archery mule deer..
Looking forwarded to doing the same hope next year.

My son archery elk hunted last year the unit I am going to for deer this fall. He saw some very good bucks and got me excited for this early season.

My unit opens Sept. 3rd. Fat Camp started a few weeks ago.
