CO Unit 41/42/421 Scouting.

Hello,

I've drawn this tag and had a quick question. I wanted to go out and scout but the fact that it's 3 separate units has myself overwhelmed where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions on these units as far as general places to check out to scout.

For elk? Try to figure out places that others will overlook. Could be distance from a road/trail or topography. In CO (and a lot of the west) it is as much about predicting where people are going to be as it is trying to find animals to hunt.

Find steep and bring a good attitude.

That country is thick and don't leave any food out at camp unless you want a visit from a black bear.

Boundary Trail is open to horses, foot, and 50" or less wide ATV's. Both sides can offer decent hunting terrain.
