I drew a November any white tail tag for area 157. I primarily hunted private land, going out for 6 morning hunts and 4 evening hunts. I have hunted these same private lands in the past and would see 25 to 40 white tail deer on the morning hunts. I did not see 1 white tail deer period. I also did not see that many mule deer, the most was 14 in a pasture that one morning. Another friend had a November white tail for an area by Glendo WY and he had a similar experience.
Central White tail deer are nonexistent.

I have hunted that area before, the reason why I do not put in for it is the youth pheasant hunt bumping the deer around.
I do think the WT's are down across the state, but I still filled my tags this year in Wyoming.
I did see a ton of deer through the Riverton and Lander area of both species when I drove through on the side of the road in early November.
So, maybe they were just pushed elsewhere.
I do know that the area is a CWD area, so that may have contributed to your hunt.

This experience, while brutal, is a classic lesson in late-season whitetail hunting, especially in mixed-agriculture Western states. The deer didn't vanish; they transformed their behavior and location. Next time, hunt the security cover and the rut, not the early-season feed grounds, and be prepared to sit all day.
