38-55 Winchester

Yep, the .38-55 is a solid old-school performer. Super forgiving to reload, but it definitely prefers careful case length matching and proper bullet diameter.
 
It's not a cartridge for someone who wants to buy ammo off the shelf and blast away. But if you relish the craft of handloading and appreciate historical, efficient ballistics, the .38-55 is one of the most delightful cartridges you'll ever load for. It has a permanent place on my reloading bench.

Ive been reloading for 40 years. Ive never owned a lever action. Have been looking for a single shot but their expensive. 1874 Sharps. How accurate a can a lever action be is a 38-55
 
38-55 can be very accurate. Not a speedster but dependable killer to 150. Has that rainbow arc. To get a little information go to Starline Brass and see the little blip about 38-55 brass selection. Very informative.
