54 2020 CALIFORNIA BIG GAME HUNTING DIGEST

I have max points - I'm 62, if I live long enough and they don't change the draw, I'll draw a tag. Anybody else out there have max points?

I think you will draw! My moto when I was at max in Arizona was, "Don't die and don't forget to apply". Come to think of it, it still is! Good luck!

18 years of the point system in California. It is working for the deer draws. For the once in a lifetime hunts of elk and sheep you nearly must have max points to draw a tag. First few years there were 5000 max points for sheep. Now under 2000 and dropping by about 200 a year.

Are you a non resident? I'm not sure if sheep is done differently than deer If so is it a separate draw for non res?

Have a life time hunting license and deer tag bought when I lived in Calif. - same draw. Me and 2 partners cashed in our max points for deer and hunted G6, 4 years ago. I sold my house, lived in Colfax, and moved back to Idaho in '06. Until '07 non res couldn't put in for elk. For elk I have max points minus 1. In 10 years the max points will have all drawn then I'll have a chance at a Tule elk tag.

Looking at the big game drawing booklet that fish and game... excuse me fish and wildlife, puts out you’d think that CA is full of desert big horns. It looks like every successful sheep hunters pic is in the pamphlet 😬
