Not really, to me anyway. Unfired JM stamped Marlin 1895 Cowboy. Bought from a dear friend and hanging up for display. Hate to actually shoot it and lessen the value just for the sake of shooting it.

Value schmalue. I'd go fill a tag with it. Then hang the sucker up.

I bought a 1949 marlin .30-30 that had been sitting in a safe my entire life. Took it out and killed 2 bears. Figured thats what it was meant for. Now its a safe queen. At some point ill likely take it out again. But i figure the old dead dude that owned it and passed it on to a relative that never used it would be glad to know it got a couple more hunts in rather than collect dust for eternity.

Well, I'm in Illinois. Nothing to kill (legally) with it here but coyotes. MAYBE if I ever move to Alaska...
