A French import, complete with subtitles and/or bad English dubs on the domestic DVD. It is supposedly based on a French legend of a mysterious wolf-like creature terrorizing a rural province, and the heroic French studmuffin sent to reveal its true nature. It smacked of the Sherlock Holmes story "The Hound of the Baskervilles" to me, but whatever!

The story was somewhat predictable, but quirky enough to make it interesting; the action was standard fare, but reasonably well done. The hero's sidekick was supposedly an American Mohawk, but he fought like Jackie Chan. The shticky "Indian medicine man" bit was poured on heavy and obviously the result of too many Frenchies watching too many John Wayne movies. But, the hero's French whore--I mean, "Lady of the Evening"--was hot so that made up for it. :D

Anyway, I'll give it a 3-spike rating overall.
