Birds in Vegas???

Does anyone know where my brother can take his dog and get her into some birds around the Las Vegas area. Not for hunting purposes, but just to get a young pointer around some birds. I know there's a lot of valley quail around but is there any good spots away from the city? I'd say within 100 miles.

Go a little over 100 miles and hit az.. or better yet hit the north rim of the canyon lots of cucker in that area
