Anyone hunted AZ 5A/5B deer tag?

Was a leftover deer tag. Only Hopi tribe members can apply in the general draw.

I elk hunted it a few years ago and i was in the elk all over but didnt see too many bucks there.

I have seen some good bucks in 5BS. I have had them under my treestand when elk hunting a few times and see deer most times I go up there. Go in from Bargaman park.

Make sure you look closely at the regs for your hunt number/tag. Some of the Hopi-only hunts are limited to portions of 5A/5B (East/West Sunset and Two Guns, I think) and not good for the whole unit. I had one of those leftovers for elk a few years back - a limited opportunity hunt for sure. If it's good for both whole units, you got a good deal - I've seen good deer in 5BS and I'm sure there are some in 5BN, too. Can't remember where I saw them, but deer numbers in AZ have been declining steadily for the most part. Good luck on your hunt!

I assume the tag is for a limited portion of 5A/5B. I will be asking that question when speak with F&G. This specific tag is not discussed in the main pamphlet where all other deer hunts for the General Draw are listed.
