Jumped out of bed a 5 am, 1 hr before daybreak, poked my head out if the window to be greeted by fog. Made my way down to the bottom of the field, out with the thermal, nada. There was a very gentle win from the noth, not the best but still ok, i skirted the edge heading south as i expected the action to come from the west quarter. Checking the foggy field as i went along, dont want to be too surprised. 200 yrds along i tucked into the edge of the forest and waited, running the thermal every minute. I noticed that the wind diwn here was from the east, hmm a curse or a godsend? After five mins i turned my head slightly to the left and there he was, smelling the ground and travelling north, and this is where i was waiting. At 60 yrds i touched the trigger and down he went. As i had my tractor in the next field i gave him a ride back to my camp.

Back home i had breakfast, two pieces of toast with avocado, grabbed the big jim bowie n sharpened him up to go outside and lo n behold theres a fox on the run, silly bugger now that i know hes hanging about ill defo keep my eye on the carcass dump, i feed komodo dragons, not quite but big, eagles and the odd fox that falls to my shot.
I started this thread back in the archery section but seeing as i shot him with the 300 wsm i moved to this site.
You can see the split in his palm,
He would of been a nice head otherwise.
