I'm looking for suggestions for a muzzleloader forum with people knowledgeable of old frontloaders. I have a chance to pick up a .36 caliber caplock with an octagonal barrel about 1.25" across and appr. 40/42" long. It was made by a gunsmith named H.Goedeke in Olney, Illinois. Weighs a ton and would take a strong man to shoot it offhand, as it is so nose heavy.
Sorry, I don't have any photos, but if I decide to get it I'll share them. Thanks

sounds like a nice squirrel gun,but might not be big enough for big game in some states,,,ck for caliber requirements in your state.
