308 power points

Hi im headed to Colorado for first season rifle elk hunt. My question is are 308 Winchester power points 150 grain enough to take down a bull elk.Ive shot many other bullets and none shoot as well in my savage 14 as the power points do.Please let me know your thoughts.

You just answered your own question. Shot placement is everything.

PPs at .308 velocity should be ok. I'd avoid shoulder bone if possible though just to be on the safe side.
