Hello

I was just wondering if anyone have any data on 300 WSM. I did research on the gun powder, but my problems is getting the gun powder. here is what I have please let me know if it will work

1) Winchester Brass
2) CCI Primer
3) Sierra 180 and 200 gr Match King yes Match King I'm shooting paper.
4) This is what I have in my inventory at home, Hodgdon H414, Varget, Reloader 15, and IMR 4000.
I just could not find information on varget and reloader 15 for 180 and 200 gr BTHP match king

If you have any data on this combo or experience reloading 300 wsm please let me know thank you for helping.

I load 67 grains of RL17 for my 150 grain bullets and 67 grains RL22 for180 grain bullets. These to loads shoot well in my browning.

Those powders are too fast burning to work in the 300. They're designed for cases that hold 30-55gr +/-. The 300 holds mid to upper 60s gr, so you'll end up with about 2/3 full, which would likely suck for accuracy and would put you dangerously close to detonation territory. Find propper powder. There are lots that work well in the 300wsm.

I use RE 17, Norma case, Winchester mag primers with Barnes 175 LRX. Sub MOA but was a bit hard to find right OAL. Good luck.

RL 17 seems to be relatively easy to find compared to other powders in my experience. I'd go that route if possible.

I've not tried RL17 and it sounds promising. 7828 would probably get my nod also. I think IMR has an Enduron powder that is working pretty well in 300WSM and those seem to be easy to find.

According to Hodgdon, H414 will work with 180 and 200 grain bullets but it looks like there is possibility for some high pressures pretty fast.

You can search for Hogdon Powders. They have a feature that allows you to select a caliber, then a bullet and get a listing of powders & loads. Try that, although it won't give you any real world accuracy information.

I use RL17 with 57grains of Powder and a Barnes 168 TTSX with a Federal GM215 primer

Ive been working up 300 wsm loads for the last couple weeks. I haven't been using the bullets you are using but heres what ive found

In my rifle Winchester WLRM primers have consistently produced tighter groups than my stand-by cci 250 primers
Mine likes loads that are slightly less than published max 95% to 102% of case capacity
H4350 and H4831sc both produced groups under .75" with 180 gr accubonds
H4350 produced faster velocities
H4350 is tough to find

66.6 Re17 with the 168 TTSX & CCI250has shot well in all three of the 300 WSM rifles I've tried it in. 3100fps with that bullet will do anything that needs to be done.
