I concur, you're going to get some damage. If that's the only caliber you have available I would do anything I could to load it down and I would certainly try to stay away from the varmint bullets or anything else that will rapidly expand.

Hornady 55 or 60 grn soft points will leave two small holes.

Or resign yourself to headshots on the cats.
