I hunted the beautiful Badlands of ND for five days with my father and hunting partner this year. We passed on a bunch of little bucks throughout the hunt. I missed a long running shot on a real dandy the third day. On the last day I spotted this buck chasing does. He was respectable, and being a kind-hearted fellow, I figured the does needed a break!! This buck was hounding the ladies mercilessly. I had my hunting partner range him at 457 yards. I was prone, with a bipod, and very little wind. I dropped him with a single shot to the spine. The shot wasn't entirely lucky. I reload my own shells and shoot at the range from 100 to 500 yards during the summer. This buck is not my biggest mulie, but I am extremely proud of him and the shot as well! I also enjoyed the opportunity spend another year in deer camp with my father and hunting partner. Great memories!
I also had to post a few pics of a real bruiser that was hanging at the camp next to us. It was taken on public land and has a 33 1/2 inche outside spread. The backs are a little weak, but still a dandy.
I am off th Mayville this weekend to fill two doe tags this weekend with a muzzleloader. I will be in your neck of the woods smalls! Take care all.
