    I’ve done some range time with a thumb style but will only hunt with a strapped index. Does anyone make a bracelet/tether for a thumb release? I don’t have my thumb release in front of me but I feel like it has a notch for a dummy cord.

    Welcome back to NH Bob, lakes region here and spend a decent bit of time in Pittsburg. Your 44mag is good to go and will do just fine. Xbow would also be a good fit for those areas and extend your hunting another 3 months.

    Best whitetail state

    It’s usually not. Lot of road hunters, not a lot of deer. It’s an access state so private places that aren’t posted get a lot of traffic. Good size deer though
