Thanks Cap, I worked in Billings a few months ago on a project, but I made a point to fly into Bozeman (sight see and shopping) and then rent a car and drive to Billings. I told the wife that we will probably retire and move to Bozeman.
Welcome, Im from NM but had a project in Billings last year so I would fly there every 3 weeks to check progress. It is beautiful up there, wish I would have taken my shotgun up there to target some geese or pheasants.
Passed through a couple times last year for my sons 16E youth elk tag, beautiful country over there. Ill be headed towards Glenwood this weekend for a weekend of Turkey hunting and fishing. It should be a nice weekend for the family.
Yes sir I have, finding those very little pockets of pubic land to access and humping those hills day after day is tough. Once you find some sheep, you will continue to find that same herd year after year.
Lifelong resident (beside my time as a grunt in the USMC) I have always come across threads while searching on Google, but finally decided to become a member so I can chime in. Im from the SE corner of the state and hunt year round.
No pictures to show you, that unit is littered with elk. Only advice is to choose an area you would like to hunt and hammer that area. You could throw a dart at a map of 34, a hunt within 5 miles of that area and find plenty.
