ABLR at short range
For those who have used this bullet at short distances >200 yards, how has it done? Wanting to test it out this year but wasn't sure how it would perform up close. Already got a solid load worked up with it. 6.5 PRC, and 150 ABLR going 2830. I won't be using it for elk or anything too large just...- Whitetail_kid

Deer - lets see em
Hadn’t been online in a while. Super fun thread to look at. Here's my best one of the year. 2024 Texas Whitetail. Shot with my APR 6.5 PRC with 156 Berger’s. I’m not much on score but he did have 5.25 inch bases which was impressive to me and for this area.- Whitetail_kid

Off-season project - 7mm Rem Mag
I would work up to max book charge. The 7mm rem mag’s I’ve seen and loaded for have always shot well close to max powder charge, and with a jump of 10-20 thousandths off lands with the 168 VLD’s. Retumbo has been what I’ve had good luck with.- Whitetail_kid

What Caliber
6.5x284 is a great cartridge. Similar to the 6.5 PRC. Like others have said not much a 140 gr bullet can’t do at 2800+fps.- Whitetail_kid

Berger Bullets
I’ve had great experience with Bergers. At 300+ yards almost always put two holes in them. Close range they usually don’t exit but don’t go far.- Whitetail_kid
