Looking for hunting/fishing partner Clearwater region idaho (willing to travel 3-4 hours)

Hello all! I just moved to Moscow, Idaho and am looking to meet people in Idaho. I like to fly fish, backpack hunt, hunt waterfowl, bow hunt, all of it. I’m 23 years old. Looking to spring bear hunt, then chase deer and elk with both bow and rifle come fall time.

Do we have enough hunting influencers yet?

I guess that’s my point, is the increased pressure worth it it to have more Ally’s against anti hunters. As someone who is 23 years old, I can’t speak to the increased pressure. But I can be worried on where hunting may be in 40 years, or 100 years for my kids or grand kids one day. So that’s my...

Do we have enough hunting influencers yet?

Agreed there man. I think the two big things with someone like Steve rinella is they are increasing the popularity of hunting, leading to increased pressure, but furthering hunting in the eyes of the public. So if influencers are here to stay, which I think they are, let’s have good influencers...

    Going to Wisconsin

Go full spawn bag. People will just assume you’re a FIB then

Do we have enough hunting influencers yet?

Do you think we would actually be able to get rid of them? And do you think meateater is siphoning dead wildlife into money for them? I’d argue differently, but I do think that analogy is very accurate for 99 percent of influencers. But I digress, if I had a magic wand, I’d get rid of all of...

But do eat squeaky cheese curds at camp and drink some spotted cow, you gotta get the whole Wisconsin experience

    Merino Wool Boxer Briefs

Ain’t the whole thing about merino is if you get thin enough that it can be wicking and cooling? But honestly I wouldn’t doubt that. I swear I’ve noticed the difference between super thin merino wool socks and just like cheap everyday cotton socks if I wear them to work at my office job. My feet...

    Spring Bear 2023

Sound like a great plan! This is my first year in Idaho so I wanna use spring bear as practice for the fall. See some country, maybe even kill a bear. I’m north of you, up in Moscow, so we will see where I go.

    Going to Wisconsin

I’d agree with everyone else, first 10 days of November is great. I actually find that in my experience, I grew up north of there in Michigan, but peak rut was middle of November, but here’s the thing, I don’t think you wanna hunt the “peak.” That’s when all the does are in estrous, and lockdown...

    Non resident Landowner incentive.

Idk the legislator or specifics, but I would say it may have something to do with his/her fundraising. Just a thought though.

Do we have enough hunting influencers yet?

I didn’t know he had his own podcast. I’ve only listened to him on the meateater, with the one Christmas special with him tearing into Steve, and them going back and forth. So I don’t have as much exposure to his all of his ideas, but I agree with some others in this thread, the genie is out of...

Judge orders new work on Bitterroot grizzly plan

This is interesting! It’s crazy to think we wiped all the grizzly bears out of this country with how rugged it is. It sounds like they’ll make their way back in, slowly, and hopefully the residents will grow accustomed to them

There is no hunt. It's SLAUGHTER!

Agreed. You gotta look at what the options are and be pragmatic.

Hello everyone! I also just moved here myself and plan on doing some spot and stalk for bear this spring as an excuse to glass some new country and test out some gear

I’m a quite a bit younger than you, I’m 23 years old, and just moved to Moscow, Idaho. I grew up in the Midwest fishing and hunting, and I’m looking to get into backcountry hunting on foot and I also love to fly fish.
