If they shoot well then use them. There’s nothing wrong with them, Barnes just discontinued them as they developed the TSX and realized that the coating wasn’t necessary and more of an unintentional gimmick.
As spendy as 340 ammo is I wouldn’t hesitate using them as long as they shoot...
I was asked the same thing.
Then after asking me if I hunted in unit xxx which I had a tag for, they asked if I killed my antelope in that same unit. WTH?
I said “Yes, that’s the only unit I was able to hunt in “.
Kinda weird how they knew what unit I had but then asked what unit I killed it in.
I see your point based off the “data” from the chart but I view it as a management issue that has nothing to do with the amount of NR tags. If they managed the regions properly it would not be an issue. They could eliminate every NR tag and those regions would still suffer from mismanagement.
Not trying to get off topic.
Randy’s MSG video was spot on. Every state that has completely ruined ANY chances to draw has done so because of the preference point system.
I agree with your statements. Math is math. I have a bad taste in my mouth being denied the opportunity to apply for a tag that I’d like to get for no reason other than keeping odds more favorable.
You guys aren’t wrong.
In my case, I put in for 14 consecutive years for moose because I wanted a moose more than I wanted antelope or controlled elk hunt. All the while craving an antelope hunt. Odds are that I could have drawn an antelope tag or two during that time. I made my choice and don’t regret it a bit but I...
Draw nothing only applying for a sheep tag or draw nothing applying for sheep, antelope and elk.
I’m just saying that I would like to be able to put in for all the species I want to hunt despite the odds being low. Right now I have to choose what I want to apply for more than the other.
