Favorite Cut?
Keeping the shoulder whole and braising is great for a big taco party + you’re spared from the tedious cleaning of sinew and silver skin. Can be smoked and braised too. Braise in lard for authentic fare.- Plebe

7mm-08 not just for kids and women…
7mm-08 has out performed 30-06 and 25-06 in my family. I own pump and bolt in 7mm-08. Staight pull in 6.5mm only because there weren't any 7mm-08 imported and no US manufacturers making stright pull rifles then. Maybe a BLR in 7mm-08 in my future. Love the caliber. -

Deciding on a mount form
You will be limited to what forms fit your deers head and neck size. I personally prefer the look of Ben Mears forms and will go with a change out head from his line on another form if I can't get the look I'm after in one of his sizes. Scope suggestion?
Isn't the Razor series Japanese glass, and some of the other Vortex scopes Philippines and maybe even some made in Vietnam? Anyway, the Razor glass is nice. But heavy. It's more about series than manufacturer when you compare. At the high end, they are all nice enough. Then it depemds on what... -

Same goes for Hoffman and Schnee mountain boots, though their pac boots are USA... and even Meindl and Zamberlan have US marketplaces now. -

Even when you buy China, those purchase support American economy in many ways. But, yeah, so does buying European. And for glass, I'm more than happy to go that route or Leupold. -

New ultralight rifle
