Thanks for the advice. I’ll have to see if there is a range near where I’m going to recheck zero after my long trip. I’m most concerned with velocity drop from hot to colder temps which will effect longer range performance. I’m also testing 168gr TTSX which require more velocity to open...- WVB4

IMR 4350 to H4350 in 30-06
I’m a big fan of H4350 but it’s kinda hard to find right now. I’ve found an acceptable replacement in IMR 4451. I’ve seen testing that indicates it performs pretty well with temp swings.- WVB4

Ramshot’s handloading guide has some pretty impressive loads for 30-06 so I thought I’d try it out with some 165gr Accubonds. Ultimate Deer Rifle
My REM 700 in 7mm08 is one of my favorite rifles. I just worked up some loads using 120gr TTSX and I’m getting 3,178 fps. -

Optics/Bullet for First Elk Tag
I would play around with some other bullets like Accubonds, TTSX, or partitions. Your Leupold is plenty good, but so is the NF. 30-06 should serve you well, but I’m the last guy to discourage the purchase of a new rifle. If a new rifle is what you want then go that route. -
