Bow sight recommendations/guidance?
Thank you for the reply. Only other sight was the 3 pin that came on my RTH pkg and I changed that ASAP. So not much frame of reference. Appreciate it. -

Aurora borealis
We had some nice views of them here in NM. Been awhile since I felt that homesick feeling. Seeing them again sure brought that out! Miss the frozen tundra!- Kryos73

Bow sight recommendations/guidance?
Just curious as to why? I'm still a relative newbie and I currently run the Fast Eddie XL dual pin. I like it until I have to resight in. The "calibration" tape system is horrid and can easily be a number or two off in my experience. -

Frontal shot on elk
I do not believe that I am comfortable enough yet to take that shot. Possibly if I can get to 15 yds or less; however, even then I would most likely choose to wait. -

NM Unit 37 Mule Deer - Muzzleloader
How'd the hunt go? Wouldn't mind talking to ya a bit about a specific area in that unit. Pulled a rifle tag this year and getting things narrowed down some. -

Another gorgeous state! We vacationed there almost three years ago. Watched day one of the NFL draft in Nashville then off to Chatt. for a fishing trip. Had a wonderful time in TN. So much so the wifey has short listed it in terms of places to move to. -

NM Hunter looking for a partner/mentor.
I guess fed up really wasn't the right terminology. More saddened and irritated. It isn't anything that would stop me from going out year after year. Just tired of not having anything to show after all the preparation and work is done. State is NM. Unfortunately both of these were draw hunts so...- Kryos73

Thank you. I've spent a bunch of time out at White River Reservoir. Have caught some nice cats out of there and a bunch of crappie. Lived in Clovis for 19 years so got around W TX a fair bit. -

New from New Mexico
2nd archery I believe. Sept 15-24. If it runs like 36 did last year, should be hot rut action. Looking forward to getting in the unit this upcoming weekend. Turkey hunting but gonna scout while I'm out. -

Best broadhead for elk?
Widowmakers (4 blade) or Arachnids (6 blade) from Blackwidow Innovations. These heads are tanks and have interchangeable tips so you can shoot at 100/125 gr. -

2021 New Mexico results
Great unit with a nice mix of country! Hated that I struck out there last year but it was a great time. Skyline campground was really nice.- Kryos73

I'll be out there Nov 13 thru 17. Only my second time (other than driving thru) in unit but e-scouting is going good. Hoping to get out twice this summer to camp it.- Kryos73

Yes it sure is. Now I should have prefaced with the fact that I've been in NM since 1998. Moved from Clovis to ABQ just over 3 years ago. Still not used to the heat though. -

We saw signs of a bear but didn't see the animal itself. Some tracks and some scat. We were out in the Dixon WMA. I absolutely loved how the state develops food plots for public access.
