Saw plenty of sign. The cover was very thick. We saw three bears total last week. No big mature boars like I was looking for. One of my hunting partners missed a decent bear at 60 yards. I think he was excited. My other friend plugged a 3ish year old 5-1/2 or so foot traditional black boar that...
When we were in the area a few weeks ago, the vegetation in the 7800' to 8300' foot range looked like prime fall forage. The only bear we saw was at about 6500'.
I am guessing they will be spread all over the place when the season opens, concentrating lower later in September. Will see how...
I apologize for butting in on your ad. Just wanted to mention that I have a Browning A-bolt Micro Medallion in .284 Winchester. I feel that the recoil is significant enough that it could be discouraging to a younger or smaller shooter. I am guessing that the 7mm08 would also be stout in this...
Got the Ballistic tips covered, thanks to a tip from a member here. Just need the ELDXs now.
Would also be interested in Berger 7 mm 175 Grain Elite Hunter.
I bought some Kennetreks at Scheel’s yesterday. The boot guy told me that Kennetrek recommends a 20 mile break-in. If during or after that I have a problem, just bring them back. Hopefully, I don’t have to validate that offer. I guess I won’t know what it’s worth unless I do.
Would like to buy some Hornady 7mm 162 grain ELD-X bullets. Also could use some .224" 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips.
Please let me know if you have some that you would like to sell.
I was blown away by their extensive selection of high-end rifles in stock. Coopers, Christensens, Proof, etc. The only shame was that 80+% are in 6.5 something or other.
It's a pretty awesome place with lots of quality gear. Hanwag and Crispi boots in stock. Sitka Gear by the droves.
Well, since I blew it and missed the muley tag raffle, I invested in my last vestige of hope for a cool tag this year here... Thanks for this thread, or I might have missed it too.
In my opinion, the best use for a long bar is bucking on the ground without wrecking your back. Short guys like me can get by with a 28" bar, but a 32" with a skip tooth chain would be even better. Obviously, for the OP's use case, a 70+ cc saw with a big bar is not warranted, but they...
Stihl MS261c-m. M-tronic works like a champ up to 10500' for me. This saw hits above its weight class.
Also have an MS462c-m, just because at the time I didn't have the extra $600 for the MS500i.
I haven't been disappointed with it either. At over 10000' elevation, it will pull a buried 28"...
Both are legit guns. I have or have had both and have shot them extensively. The P365 hits above its weight class. Now that the teething pains are over with it is worth having. It is the first subcompact, or micro-compact, (whatever you want to call it), that blew me away the first time I shot...
I am looking for input on the Leupold Gold Ring spotters in general, and also specifically for the 20-60x80mm model. Anyone have experience-based opinions to share?
Another empty sheep and goat year for my family. My friend's nephew drew a G7 late goat tag. If I am really nice, maybe I can tag along and wash camp dishes and glass...
