    When we were in the area a few weeks ago, the vegetation in the 7800' to 8300' foot range looked like prime fall forage. The only bear we saw was at about 6500'. I am guessing they will be spread all over the place when the season opens, concentrating lower later in September. Will see how...

    I bought some Kennetreks at Scheel’s yesterday. The boot guy told me that Kennetrek recommends a 20 mile break-in. If during or after that I have a problem, just bring them back. Hopefully, I don’t have to validate that offer. I guess I won’t know what it’s worth unless I do.

    Tell Me About Scheel's

    I was blown away by their extensive selection of high-end rifles in stock. Coopers, Christensens, Proof, etc. The only shame was that 80+% are in 6.5 something or other. It's a pretty awesome place with lots of quality gear. Hanwag and Crispi boots in stock. Sitka Gear by the droves.
