This picture was taken last year. The setter got ahold of a porcupine while we were grouse hunting. The vet bill was $700. So far this year I’ve managed to keep the dogs away from them, but it’s just a matter of time till it happens again unfortunately.
Does anyone know if the insurance policy they have covers porcupine quill removal? Porcupines are pretty common in my neck of the woods. That alone may make an insurance policy worth while.
It’s not easy to find a dealer that will pay above spot as most dealers sell coins for spot + X (eg spot + $90 for gold 1oz coin). If the dealer pays above spot he’s cutting into his own profits. I’ve sold to Apmex in the past and been happy with them. You could try eBay or similar auction sites...

I have a S&W 629 Classic 6” that really likes Hornady XTP 240gr. I don’t think you could really go wrong with just about any 240gr lead soft nose round within realistic handgun ranges.
Just for fun here is a picture of my Remington 700 AAC SD in 308 with a Silencerco Specwar 7.62 can and a Nightforce SHV 4-14x56. I haven’t taken any big game with it yet but it is deadly on groundhogs. ;)
As the owner of multiple silencers, I concur with the above statements. The sound reduction is the primary reason I got them, second they also give a slight reduction in felt recoil which is nice for people of smaller stature. I did miss a ground hog one time and it ran directly toward me to get...
I have been a long time follower of Randy’s YouTube channel and a lurker here on the forums. I just realized that I never actually created an account so I’m rectifying that now. I am from PA but I have hunted quite a bit of the east coast. I have been collecting preference points the past couple...
